
Professor Gregory L. Germain is a professor at Syracuse University College of Law, where he has served since 2002, teaching and conducting research in contracts, taxation, commercial law, bankruptcy, and corporate law. A widely published scholar in the field of bankruptcy, Professor Germain also founded Syracuse Law’s pro bono bankruptcy program and clinic in 2009, providing critical legal assistance to low-income individuals while offering students practical, hands-on experience in bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to entering academia, he practiced law for 17 years, beginning as an associate at Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, and later as an associate and partner at Landels, Ripley & Diamond in San Francisco. He has also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Lloyd King, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, and as an attorney advisor to the Honorable Renato Beghe of the United States Tax Court.
